High Impact Volunteers

Please read through information below about current ways to get involved! If you have any questions, contact our Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@wmm.org.

HIGH IMPACT INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEERS are dedicated believers who desire to have consistent, hands-on, personal influence with guests staying at Wheeler Mission. Volunteers are required to fill out a High Impact Volunteer Application and complete the application process. Volunteers are to be over the age of 18.

SHUTTLE VAN DRIVER

At Wheeler's Shelter for Men, we have a van that brings men to and from various appointments. We are currently in need of a male volunteer shuttle driver on Fridays to help transport our guests. This is a great way to get to know some of the men and pour into their lives on a quick trip! Volunteer drivers must have a valid driver's license and be approved by our insurance company. If you are interested, please email our Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@wmm.org.

HANDS-ON FAMILY/GROUP VOLUNTEERS are those who want to have hands-on opportunities with our guests both one-time and on a regular basis. We welcome volunteers under the age of 18, but must be accompanied by a parent or adult while volunteering. We do ask there is one adult for every 5 minors. All volunteers must be on the schedule to volunteer.

RECREATION NIGHT

Recreation Night takes place on Friday and Saturday evenings and all guests and residents of the host Center are invited. Depending on the location, activities can range from board games to crafts to movie nights to bingo to themed evenings and we welcome new ideas! It is the responsibility of the volunteer(s) to plan and supply items. This is a wonderful time of fellowship, fun and service that guests can look forward to!

EVENING CHILD CARE/ACTIVITY TIME

During the school year, the children staying at the Center for Women & Children that are of school-age get tutored several days of the week. At the same timeframes, many of the moms and ladies in our programs attend Bible studies, tutoring sessions and other programs. This leaves time for the younger children (pre-school and younger) to get loved on. Volunteers are needed Monday and Wednesday evenings.
